Right now, the Labor Government is trying to evict Margaret from her home of 25 years at the Barak Beacon Housing Estate (where we’ll be taking action!)
Margaret is one of the last remaining residents at Barak Beacon in Port Melbourne. As the fight to save her home continues, she has told us how much it means to have people supporting her and her community.
The problem is, not many people know this fight is happening. That’s what we’re hoping to change with this rally and other actions at Barak Beacon.
Showing up counts, showing up is what matters. We want Margaret and public housing residents like her to understand that when they fight for their homes, they are not alone – they are part of a community of people who will always fight to #ProtectPublicHomes.

Join Adam Bandt, Leader of the Australian Greens; Samantha Ratnam, Leader of the Victorian Greens and MP for Southern Metro, Katherine Copsey for our on-site rally. Come and hold a banner or a placard and show that the community are out in full force!
Make sure you bring your friends, your family, your posters – and a hat and plenty of water.
