Greens Contingent Rise Up - Central Victoria lakeside vigil

Join the Bendigo and Mount Alexander Greens contingent at the Bendigo Rise Up vigil for the environment, reaching out to our MP, Lisa Chesters to:

• Call on the Albanese Government to end its support for new fossil fuel projects.

• Demand immediate action to fast-track proposed upgrades to the EPBC Act to:

  • extend protection of vital water resources from irreversible damage from fracking for shale gas,

  • consider the impacts of climate change by including a 'climate trigger' to allow refusal of fossil fuel projects if their full climate impact, including scope 3 emissions will harm Australia's natural environment.

Bring a placard, flag or banner with your personal message or use one of our placards.
All ages are welcome, and we'll be encouraging positive interaction with those we encounter.
