Our community loves Port Phillip Bay, we swim in it, we walk and run on the beach - but it is filled with plastic pollution.
Join us for a morning of community, action, and conversation at Elwood Beach as we launch The Greens’ new Waste Policy.
Date: Saturday the 16th of November
Time: 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Location: Elwood Beach, meet at Elwood Sailing Club
We’ll kick off the day with a paddle out led by Greens Senator for Tasmania, Peter Whish-Wilson, a lifelong environmentalist and ocean lover. Afterward, join local beach enthusiasts for a Beach Clean Up, followed by a delicious Breakfast BBQ cooked up by volunteers.
This is your chance to learn more about The Greens' plans to tackle waste, protect our oceans, and preserve beautiful Port Phillip Bay. Hear from Senator Steph Hodgins-May, our Greens Senator for Victoria and passionate advocate for a healthy environment, and Sonya Semmens, Greens candidate for Macnamara, on how we can create a future free from plastic pollution and ensure a cleaner, greener coastline for all.
We’ll also be joined by community groups that love Port Phillip Bay, working every day to protect this precious ecosystem.
This event is family-friendly, and all are welcome! Bring your bathers or kayak for the paddle out, or just come down to lend a hand with the clean-up and enjoy a relaxing BBQ breakfast with the community.
What to bring:
Reusable water bottle
Bathers and any paddle out gear
Sun protection
we’ll provide bags and gloves for the clean up
Let’s come together to celebrate our beautiful bay, fight for a waste-free future, and take real action to protect our planet.
RSVP today and invite your friends!
