Our Member Policy Forums are where we discuss and decide on a range of proposed improvements to our state policies in advance of the next state election. These policies, in turn, inform how our parliamentarians develop their campaigns and the party's election platform.
This Member Policy Forum is for members only - all members are welcome.
In the Greens, we use participatory and deliberative processes, facilitated by members of our policy committee to consider and refine member-made submissions before returning them to the membership for consideration and approval. Your participation is crucial to make sure this process works well.
Substantive changes being recommended by the committee to the following six state policies are being considered for approval at our next Member Policy Forum, which is taking place online on Saturday 14 June 2025, 1.00pm – 5.00pm:

If you're interested in seeing our policy development process in action, or have a special interest in any of these areas, please register to attend the forum here. A draft of the forum agenda is available here. Even if you can't make the event, all members are also invited to provide feedback or ask questions about any recommended change via the 'Reply' function in the comments pane of each document linked above (you can also submit feedback directly via email to policy@vic.greens.org.au).
Rather than brainstorming or proposing new ideas, the purpose of the forum will be to consider proposals already received that have been recommended by our State Policy Committee, and then finalise them (and/or refer any with serious issues or concerns back to the committee with comments).
Note that the deadline for new proposals has closed for these six policies, as well as the other policies in 'Tranche B' (see here for further info). We’re planning to run two more forums over the next couple of months to finalise the remainder of Tranche B.
If you'd like to make a contribution to our policies, the submission window for our Tranche C policies is still open until 1 July 2025 (use this form; we recommend reading this advice before getting started).
